Course Creation Process
The course creation process involves setting a course name, filling in basic information, and publishing the course so it becomes visible on the frontend.
Step 1: Start a New Course
- Navigate to the My Courses page.
- Click the "New Course" button.
- Enter a Course Name and click "Continue" to create a draft course.
Note: You can change the course name later.
Step 2: Fill in Basic Information
Once the course is created, you’ll be taken to the Basic Information tab, where you need to complete the required fields.
Required Fields
✅ Title – The name of the course that will appear to students.
✅ Description – A brief overview of the course.
These fields must be filled in before the course can be saved.
Additional Fields
- Instructor – Select an instructor from the predefined list or click "Add New Instructor" to create a new one.
- Categories – Used for filtering and organization. You can assign multiple categories, though they do not have a functional impact.
- Video – Choose an existing video or upload a new one.
- Thumbnail – Upload an image for the course. The system automatically scales images, but it’s recommended to keep file sizes under 50KB for best performance.
Step 3: Adding Custom Fields
Custom fields allow admins to extend course content beyond the default fields. These fields can be used for additional text descriptions, benefits, or any structured content needed to match the frontend design.
How it Works:
- Click "Add Custom Field" and select a field type.
- These fields can be used by content managers and are ultimately displayed on the frontend.
- Every new course will include the custom fields you define, ensuring consistent content structure.
Step 4: Set Course to Published
By default, new courses are set to Draft and will not appear on the frontend.
To make a course visible:
- Click the "Draft" button at the top of the course editor.
- Change the status to "Published."
- The button will turn green, indicating that the course is now live.
- You can also see the publication status from the My Courses page.
Once all necessary fields are filled in and the course is published, it will be available to students on the frontend.
